Maya™ is a ceremonial-grade matcha with a clean, balanced flavour. It offers mellow umami, soft sweetness, and a refreshing finish. It has a smooth texture, subtle vegetal notes, and minimal bitterness. Suitable for both traditional matcha preparation and blended matcha beverages such as matcha lattes and brighter-style infusions, Maya delivers a well-rounded taste that’s both approachable and versatile.

Place 1/2 tsp (approx. 2 bamboo scoops) of matcha (~1g) in matcha bowl, then wet with 15ml (0.5fl oz) of 70ºC/160ºF water. Thoroughly knead mixture using bamboo whisk until smooth paste forms. Add 70ml (2.4fl oz) of remaining water and mix until consistent.
Upon sipping, roll the liquid around the palate to appreciate the full flavour anatomy of the tea.
- Store in a cool dry place, away from moisture, sunlight, and odours
- Refrigerate after opening for maximum flavour and potency

For the price of 1kg matcha, I believe it is fair, but the description of the matcha does not fully capture the experience I had with it. Instead of the "vivid jade green" I saw more of a yellow-toned green. It was indeed slightly umami, subtly sweet, and had a refreshing astringent finish. I don't believe it has a smooth texture and it is actually on the grittier side in terms of mouthfeel. It is definitely better suited when paired with milks or in bright, creamy drinks. I think that labeling it ceremonial is a bit of a stretch because I would consider it latte grade.
